CHROME EXTENSION PRIVACY

Privacy Policy for Matrix Multiplication Tutor – Step by Step

This Privacy Policy explains how the Matrix Multiplication Tutor – Step by Step Chrome extension, published by MatrixCalculator.net, handles information when you use the extension.

Effective date: October 21, 2026

The extension does not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal information, browsing history, webpage content, or matrix input data.

1. What the Extension Does

The extension provides an interactive 2×2 and 3×3 matrix multiplication tutor in a movable panel on the webpage you are currently viewing.

When you click the extension icon, Chrome temporarily allows the extension to place its packaged Tutor interface on the active tab. Matrix calculations, answer checking, hints, and practice interactions are performed locally in your browser.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

The extension does not collect or transmit:

  • names, email addresses, account information, or other personal identifiers;
  • health, financial, authentication, communication, or location information;
  • browsing history or lists of websites you visit;
  • the text, images, audio, video, links, or other content of webpages you visit;
  • matrix values or answers entered into the Tutor;
  • keystrokes entered outside the Tutor;
  • advertising identifiers or analytics data.

No account is required to use the extension.

3. Local Processing and Tutor Input

Matrix values and answers entered into the Tutor are used only to operate the Tutor and check your work locally in the browser. They are not sent to MatrixCalculator.net or to any third party.

The extension includes keyboard event handling that applies only while a Tutor input field is focused. This prevents some host webpages from interfering with typing inside the Tutor. Those keystrokes are not logged, stored, or transmitted.

4. Chrome Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions needed for its single purpose.

activeTab

Provides temporary access to the current tab only after you click the extension icon, so the Tutor can be shown on that page.

scripting

Allows Chrome to inject the extension's packaged content.js file into the active tab to create the floating Tutor panel.

storage

Saves only the floating Tutor panel's last on-screen position using chrome.storage.local so it can reopen in a convenient place.

The extension does not use these permissions to collect or transmit webpage content or personal data.

5. Local Storage

The only persistent information saved by the extension is the Tutor panel's position on your screen. This consists of local x/y position values stored through Chrome's local extension storage.

Matrix entries, answers, webpage content, browsing history, and personal information are not stored by the extension.

6. Remote Code

The extension does not load or execute remote JavaScript, WebAssembly, or other remotely hosted executable code. The code required to run the Tutor is packaged with the extension.

7. External Links

The Tutor contains links to MatrixCalculator.net, including a link to the free Matrix Calculator and a link to the Matrix Multiplication Tutor page. Opening one of these links takes you to a normal website in a browser tab.

Visiting MatrixCalculator.net is separate from using the Chrome extension and is subject to the website's own operation.

8. Selling, Sharing, and Advertising

We do not sell user data. The extension does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the extension's matrix tutoring function.

The extension contains no advertising or third-party analytics code.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If the extension's data practices or permissions change in a future version, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the current version of the policy.
